Flyers’ Totals are Only Going up if They Keep Posting OVERs

If you have been betting hockey this season, you discovered that OVERs were cashing at a ridiculous rate in the early going. This trend has levelled off as many teams seem to have discovered their bearings. The Philadelphia Flyers haven’t.
They have cashed 11 OVERs in their 16 games and have just two UNDERs. Their games have had by far the maximum average of complete goals as they have scored the second-most in the league and are tied together with the Calgary Flames for allowing the maximum.
If you’d tossed $100 on every Flyers’ OVER this season, it would’ve profited you just seven $100 bills but watch out for high total matchups as I’ve even cashed a couple total props of OVER 6.5 as well as an OVER 7.5 when they played with the Leafs last Friday.
I do not anticipate this trend changing much. Their goaltending and defense are awful, and they simply lost Michal Neuvirth for an elongated period and have been made to call up Anthony Stolarz from Lehigh Valley in the AHL. Furthermore, they play in the highest-scoring division in hockey and the Flyers can flat out score.
A surprising tendency over the OVER trend is the O/U is 10-2 when Philly’s games have closed with a total of 5.5 and is 1-1-2 when they’ve closed . This means is that if the Flyers are becoming Patches of 5.5, Vegas is pretty damn sure their games are going to get goals.
I suggest riding this OVER whenever the total is 5.5 or the Flyers are up against some other group in the bottom half of goals given up per game.
With that information, you will want to consider that OVER if they go up against the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday. The Jets have given up the fifth-most goals in the league and with both teams’ offenses clicking, we could see a repeat of their match in 2011 that resulted in a 9-8 Jets’ win.
Maybe keep on the lookout for your ol’ OVER 16.5. I am of course kidding but I’ll be making a big bet on the OVER 5.5 and I shall be on the lookout for props offering bigger totals.
